For those who arent aware, it is now required of every NBA player to be clothed appropriately on their way to games. They are asked to wear a suit and tie.

I personnaly think this is gonna bring their market value down. Yes corporate america might enjoy it more, but is it corporate america thats gonna be joining that league in the futur? No, its those kids that play ball in the street that tend to dress just like their heroes (singers or nba players).
Its stupid to Change something that was working so well.

this takes away the player's personality and also takes away the feeling that these players are just there to play ball and not get the $. It'll take away that feeling that fans had that they were getting to know their players. Now they're just rich men in suits.

heres the dress code for those who wanna read it:

I believe part of being PROFESSIONAL is dressing like it. Don't like how professional people dress, don't become a professional, simple.

This isnt a workplace, its sports, its suppose to be entertaining, id like to hear someone say that you never wondered what kind of hair Dennis Rodman would have at the next bulls game?

They play professional basketball, as being a professional they need to represent a professional status. Because of the lack of control on NBA's behalf, people became alittle creative overtime. What they play or do shouldn't effect this implication on any sport, you should come in the game looking professional and then change and warmup in your work clothes. Celebrities have turn clothing into a popularity contest with who try to be the center of attention with the most ghetto clothing and jewerly/ice or w/e garbage. As a company in it for the money (duh) they want their employees to look like their best, not something they just pulled out of a alley in the ghetto...

Yes put who are they marketing the game to is the question?
The music business has been doing unbelievably well these days and they do not have any dress code.

If they want to sell this to teenagers the dress code is dumb, to an older population, then go for it.

Teenagers like to watch shows and associate themselves with it, although it might be a good concept to try to get teenagers to wear suits by having they're sports heroes dress that way.

Yes I called sport a show, Its a form of entertainement found on television, the big difference is, you never know the outcome.

NBA is already known, people are gonna watch it no matter if they all wear pink uniforms. They just moved onto a new professional level as a now thriving business. Also, the players need something else to blow their overpaid checks on.
