Well my current computer is about 5years old with a few upgrades here and there and I want to build a new computer but I really have no idea on what is needed or what is the best. I will order items off the net (New Egg what not..) but really for now I just need a list of items to purchase ( only need the tower built at this point, I have a monitor and what not and only want a basic case)(Also parts need to be compatiable). If anyone knows even a website that can help me out with this or can post some parts that work together and what not I will be very happy and if anyone can help me a lot I will send you some ingame gold(World of Warcraft!) (can't send money sorry!). My price range is about $1200 canadian give or take at the most!!! thanks for reading and helping!! sorry for my terrible grammar and spelling!!!!!!!!!

i have a few suggestions...as far as current stuff thats gonna last you the longest.
-Dual Core processors are the newest thing as far as procs go, AMD is most affordable however intel does offer it as well.
If ur not looking at the DCs look at AMD's 64bit high end procs like the 3800+,4000+, 4200+ these are good just not as good.
-For RAM 1GB seems to be the standard however 2GB shows some amazing performance increases ($$$$$$$$$$$).
- Mobos are a fickle thing....SLI....sockets.....on-board stuff, ur gonna have to look at different ones and check what they offer, make sure the socket matches the processor you're looking at. Asus offers some really nice stuff at reasonable prices (ie under 200$ CAN). www.shoprbc.com has a lot of their models
- Try and find a case with a 500W power supply this way u wont be replacing it anytime soon. Also with the case check how many case fans/case fan expansion slots it has. ventilation is important.
- Hard drives and optical drives are personal preferance...just look at prices for those.
- and here we come to the graphics card...this depends on your mobo...AGP or PCI-E...256mb cards are the new standard however this isnt the only value to look at, look up the cards u are looking at online and see what the core speed and ram speed are...as well and the Gigapixel rates are...comprae them to other cards. The best bang for your buck are usually the nVidia 6000 series.

if i missed anything feel free to ask questions I worked at futureshop for a while...im used to questions....i now work at Staples Business depot also selling comps...so let me know
Colin

With that computer you will be able to run anything.. but It's a waste of money.

Dont put too much on what you dont need. Sure It's great but do you really need it ? that's the question.

You could put around 700$ and have a badass computer and run at 30-40fps all the time(which is good)

My computer is half of that and I can run at 30 fps in Ironforge.. Imagine.
