Cd drive question.

I have 2 cd drives on my computer d:/ and e:/ both d:/ is dvd drive e:/ is cd burner drive. For some reason there is now a third cd drive listed as f:/ but I dont have an f drive rofl? Anyone know the reasoning behind this or a way to fix it?

Did you install a cd emulator like game daemon?

not to my knowledge although i do have alcohol 120% and a few other programs that could do so.

That program could of made it.

Alcohol 120 makes virtual drives everytime you mount an image.

i have never mounted an image on the drive i always just burn to cds

i had daemon but that drive disappeared whenever i didn't use it, but when i did use it, it was there

It was Alcohol 120% that did it.

Only way to actually fix it is to remove Alcohol 120% and it will then remove the extra cd drive it creates.


It isnt harming anything on your system to keep it however, just a fyi.

Never used it. Have had no need to, I know how Alcohol 120% works.

Daemon is not the same as Alcohol 120%. Daemon Tools simply is made to mount images on upto 4 virtual drives at once. As games come out with new protections it needs to be updated and such to work around them. Alcohol however simply mounts images to a basic degree where the game has no security features and can burn discs as well (dunno why you would use it over Nero...)
