There is no such things as a best computer, 1 month later after you buy your brand new spanking 5000$ computer , a new one will come out much better lol

Dude you can get an awesome PC for $900 w/o Monitor. With one would be around $1200.

send specs and list of things u bought, im looking into getting a realy good graphics card, and 4 GB's of RAM :D

Specs:
MoBo - ASUS
CPU - AMD Athlon 2700+
GFX Card - Nvidia Geforce 5900XT
Sound Card - Turtle Beach Riviera 5.1 Surround Sound
512x2 RAM
100 GB HDD
16x8 DVD Dual Drives (Toshiba)

There's some other expenses I didn't figure into the equation.. monitor, mouse, keyboard, 5.1 speaker system, etc.. But that's the basics. At the time it costs me around 550ish off of Newegg, but I actually only spent about 450 due to some connections with friends.
