For anybody that has ever played Pre-CU SWG. This is pretty similar but with better options. Also its fantasy based instead of Sci-Fi. This is expected to be out sometime this year.

Here are a few of there different features.

Key Features:

Discover intriguing adventures and fearsome creatures across two vast continents and an enchanted archipelago which form the ancient lands of Telon.

Encounter the world as one of 19 classic fantasy races including dwarves, barbarians, a variety of elves, and exotic human/animal combinations.

Guide your character along the path of one of 15 exciting professions including Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Psionicist, Bard, and Rogue.

About Ships and Boats..

Will there be boats or ships?

Yes, both NPC-controlled as well as player-controlled and owned.

Player-owned ships will need to be crafted by the appropriate crafting classes.

Various types of player owned ships will be available, including 'coast hugger' ships, as well as ocean going vessels, some better for defense, some better for hauling equipment, etc...

Players will, just like with their residences and their horses, be able to both store goods in their ships. They will also be able to enhance their ships by equipping them with items.

Build chains of special attacks and reactions with Openers, Bridges, and powerful Finishing moves.

Actions of your group-mates can open exciting opportunities for you during battle.

Unique spells are distinctively enhanced when you possess special items.
As a diplomat cunning words are your most powerful weapon as you curry favor in centers of power.

Collect essential materials and use skills such as blacksmithing, alchemy and ship building to create valuable and powerful items.

Travel on horseback, join a caravan, or take your entire group on a sea-based adventure to discover faraway lands.

Make Telon feel like home by furnishing your own house with unique items.

Will there be horses? How will they work, how important will they be, and are they just a status symbol of integral to the game?

Horses are integral to ground-based travel. We expect characters to own a horse fairly quickly to help with travel. Horses will also be able to store goods and even be enhanced with certain items, just like your character and/or your ship.

It is also possible for combat to take place while on a mount, or even while on board ships

Will there be player owned housing and how will that work?

Players will be able to build and own residential, commercial, industrial structures as well as store items in those structures. This will include residential areas for storing goods, commercial areas in which you can have a vendor sell your wares for you, as well as 'industrial' areas that will help crafters refine and assemble goods. We will have craftable vehicles and buildings in regards to player cities, though at this time, we don’t have exact details on how this will work. There will be differing styles, and there will be some recipes that you can only execute on a particular continent, town or dungeon.

We can’t go into too much more detail other than to say that housing will be zoned – you can’t build just anywhere. Likewise, there is an upkeep associated with housing, and we expect people to move as they go up in levels, leaving buildings (or at least build-able land) behind. Does that mean everyone is guaranteed a house? We’re hesitant to commit to that – it’s akin to guaranteeing content in general. There will be competition to a degree, though we will do our best to avoid both tedium and frustration. That, and the world is seamless and BIG, so there should be good amount of room.

Also, our approach, like most MMOGs, is shard-based, so servers will age, new servers will be put up, etc., so these and many other opportunities shouldn’t only be available at launch, but after launch as the game naturally grows and new worlds are launched.

In addition to owning buildings on a character level, player-controlled villages and cities are expected to appear over time.

What kinds of quests will you use?

We've implemented an advanced flag-based quest system that is very flexible. More details will follow, but here's a simple example of how it works:

Quests will involve all sorts of ideas and stories; there may be multiple ways to solve or complete them. Some of the stories might be only of local import, or some might have some epic scope. It really all depends on the context, who you are, and what you're doing. Certainly the quests will not be random, nor limited to taking an item from point A to point B. Our quest design involves a sophisticated flag system where characters can be marked by an number of events (including, but far from being limited by, picking up or being handed an item). NPCs will then react to that character depending on what flags he has on or off.

One example of a quest we just put in the game involved retrieving a stained cloak from a half-giant that attacks you if you are on a certain quest. Once you retrieve the cloak, it allows you entry into a goblin mini-dungeon -- apparently the goblin's smell the scent on the cloak and choose not to attack you. This then allows you audience with the goblin chief -- you have a quick dialog with him, have another flag set, and continue onto the next segment of the greater quest. And, as long as you aren't dumb enough to remove the cloak, the goblins allow you to exit the dungeon and proceed.

Alot of rpgs say "Lots of stat variations/ get "finishing moves" pick your own skills/moves. But in the end only a few are used because they outclass the others. Hope this will be worth it.

yea, the cheese cutter characters really get annoying.

It is owned by SOEA so the game card will probably be the same one as the planetside, eq, and eq2 cards as they were doing a while back.
