problem with internet connection

My internet connection will still work fine for gaming and whatnot but when it comes to downloads my internet grinds to a halt and falls from its original 250 - 300 to somewhere below 100. Anything I could try doin to speed it back up?

if it falls when ur downloading its most likely because that server cant go any faster lol. 100kbps still is gg :-)

Many variables can come into play. In no particular order, and by no means the only possibilities; you can ask yourself these questions:

1. What port are you using?
2. What exactly are downloading?
3. What ISP are you using?
4. Does you ISP throtle Ports? Or are they monitoring your connection? (could have been flagged)
5. As Durf said maybe the server can't go any faster.
6. Did you get a new router recently?
7. How do you know that you trully always get 250-300 Kbps when not downloading. and just playing games?
