Help burning first dvd

ok so i got a dvdrw drive now i put a dvd in it and i try to burn underwworld2. i used some nero 7 or some shit and clicked video. clicked select files or w/e and then it started burning or w/e i think it had to convert cuz it took like 2 hours to burn. then i put it in the ps2 and it dont work it said some kind of shit does not match tv or something. wtf does that mean? is there a way to fix it. i'm new to the dvd making scene. also when it did burn like the whole time it was converting cpu was running between 88 and 100% usage is that supposed to happen?
any info about dvd burning would be greatly appreciated.

PS2's do not play burnt discs whether its games, music, or movies. In order to be able to you either need to get a special swap disc or get it mod chipped. When burning a dvd it is better to burn it at medium to slower speed because the writing process is less likely to make an error.
