refurbished laptop from tigerdirect... keep an eye out for awhile and you can pick up a decent one for around 700

Tigerdirect = garbage ... Get a dell from delloutlet.com, they are usually about 50% cheaper than a new dell with the same stats.

Dell Laptops suck nuts. So do Gateway. My family has used both before, ad in less than a year, there was a hardware problem (i.e. over heating)

Gaming or School? It's gonna be used mostly at school, bu I'm gonna be playing CS:S in class. So, gaming.

heres a few stats I need, 4GB max RAM, comes with 2GB, atleast 4 USB ports. Atleast 150GB HD(if lower, ill buy a 250 or something) installed windows (XP pro, or media center addition) and a decent graphix card. HD audio is perferred.

First of all, for a 150gig Hard drive youll play more then 400$. 4gig of ram?

Wait your asking to have a good laptop so it doesnt overheat? Man , all of that together will overheat and youll have to bring your laptop to repair.

If you want a really good laptop, you go for the LG, its very stable and performing.
