Register doesnt cost anything but a email. Its a fun little game where you are in like ancient roman times. You have a capital and can expand, you research abilities and buildings to increase your empire. You can pillage others etc.

Im enjoying it alot because it is very easy to maintain and easy for my schedule to get on a deal with my town issues. I also created a JAGe Alliance in the Alpha server and already have 1 member and it will probably move to 4 after I finalize a few things with some locals near me.

No, it's not for everybody. It's a very slow game. And I'm not sure whether the appeal will stay once I've gotten to a higher level. I mean, come on... a year to upgrade a town hall to the highest level? That's a bit excessive. But still, it's a great distraction when I need a 5 minute break from work here and there. Just log on, make sure everything's running smoothly, redistribute supplies throughout my colonies, aid a member of my alliance in his battle against another player or his need for supplies, start building or upgrading some buildings, and then go away and let it just run.

But then, I'm the kind of methodical guy that enjoys playing Microsoft Flight Sim X and flying from Columbia, MS to Charlottesville, VA in real-time (two places I used to live). *shrug* it takes all kinds. :)

Overall, a fun game.

What else would you expect from a guy who fixes computers for a living? ;-) But I guess you didn't know that, did you? I have gotten so used to reading forums that I forget not everyone knows me as well as I know them from their posts. :-P

I read forums a lot (if there's something interesting going on), but don't post often. I used to... 8 years ago when I was still in high school. But then I started working and stopped having time to post so much.

Yep. And I found out that Diplomat basically just lets me make a write-up about JAGe, and field any outside questions or messages to the alliance. General lets me see what troops everyone has, who's under attack, and also "call back attacks on alliance members". Not positive what that last bit means. I'm sure we'll find out in time. But it seems that particular role would be best served by someone on the game an insane amount of time.

Hell I enjoy the game because of my crazy life I do not have large amounts of times for games and this gives me easy touch and go activity.

That's it in a nutshell right there. True, I sit at a desk all day. But today's the last day of that. I'm not going to be with this particular client so much anymore, freeing me up for more higher-paying work on the road. I'll be around less, but I don't have to worry; my citizens will be busy building my empire while I'm away. Especially since the one person who had been attacking me and looting resources is now asking to ally with me and offering protection. :)

I've forgotten to log in for a day or two before, and came back to find everything running great. So great, actually, that I was able to build my first colony not long after. And while 1250 wood is nothing to me now, back then it was an insane amount, and I was tickled pink to have it. Is it possible in WoW or any similar game to actually "make money while you sleep"? Star Wars Galaxies would *sorta* let you (a few years ago when I played it), but nothing like this game does.

Well depends you can buy low and sell high on the Auction house and over night come back to a ton of gold from profits...


On the subject of that rank.... Though we have the definition very cut and dry its really not like that. Its very open to supply and demand... If your the only one doing the job and nobody else wants the position your able to relax while doing it and do it at your pace completely. Its not like we can replace you with someone else...

As long as the ends justify the means were all good.

I just started playing this game a little while ago and was actually introduced to jage from scimitars alliance.

I normally dont like these kind of games and to be honest im not sure how i found it but with my busy life these days with work and college i actually am having alot of fun with it.

Play Rome: Total War. It will fill all your imperial needs more than Rise of Nations :D

Medieval 2: Total War is better but it doesn't have Imperial nations so RTW will work fine.

My good friend just lent me a book about that. This group of people dedicated a fair amount of time to WOW (like 2 years) and ended up making $250,000 while still maintaining full-time jobs. WOW is so exploitable its ridiculous. I've never seen a game where you can literally generate any item you want with a simple piece of code. TBH, I am not entirely sure how they could code the game that simple/bad to be able to do that. *shrug*

I don't trust MMO companies as far as I can throw them. And I can't throw them very far because they usually have my wallet so I need to fetch it from them anyway :rolleyes:

SOE single-handedly destroyed my trust in any type of conglamerate that receives payment from me for practically nothing. Yeah I get a subscription, but if they really wanted to, they could shut down the server the 1st day after they receive payment and there isn't a damn thing I could do about it. When it comes down to it, MMO companies just want a promised influx of funds. That is indirectly associated with keeping the game appealing, but they will never try anymore than ocassionally throwing the Warcrack addicts a bone or two. WOW is a decent game, don't get me wrong. I play an emulated server and its allright, but still for millions of people to play (each paying $15 a month) they could do x1000 better than what they have. *sigh*
