Need some help

I was messing around at work and came up with this.... My text is not good I need alot of work on it....

How do you change the color of a background so drasticly like what queen did in the set he made for doc... I changed my background to red but it wasnt the right Way I dont think.

uh he might have changed the whole layer with the pic on it to black/white(forgot what the term is called in ps), created a new layer, changed it to the color he wanted(red), put it in front of everything and changed the transparency then added the text.

just my guess.

EDIT: dunno how much you know about photoshop, but i happen to know that docjay's particular render is a wallpaper from the wow site, or it looks exactly like it. and the wallpaper is in color, so to get the effect of red overlay, he had to have changed it from a color render to a black and white render in order for the red to look like that.

Now i got to work on Blending and my font.....how would i blend this image into it.

you can feather the edges a little and then overlap the background onto it

Layer = blending options

I usually go with Overlay , soft light or hard light.
