When you are a mayor of the 5th largest city in the nation it is makes a BIG difference. When you are talking about this level of politics in a city this size it can greatly effect not only the city but also the general government and legislation for the entire state because most new ideas are piloted in the major cities before they are taken state wide. It effects reforms, budgets, taxes, etc...
Not to mention the fact that Mayors in the largest cities often times become major players in bids for higher government seats later in their careers... take the new republican vice presidential candidate Palin from Alaska, other than her 1.5 years as governor of Alaska, the only political office she's held was as Mayor.
Now this former mayor now has potential powers that would effect the entire nation.
You, as a narrow minded politcal thinker may think "noone knows noone cares" but again its because you are narrow minded, anyone who knows anything about this country knows that having him out of office is a HUGE relief for not only the state of Michigan, but for the politics in general.
Maybe you need to pay attention to whats going on in this country because everything will effect you at some point in time in some way shape or form.
Last thought....grow up.
