Well. This saturday.... I find my modem at 2-3am off.... I am like wtf I am always online. After a while of trouble shooting and trying to fix said modem, I deem it dead.

So I call the cable company I USED to work for.... long story short they are idiots... "Are there 3 cords coming from the modem"... yes ok is it plugged into an electrical outlet.... Yes finally I tell them stop troubleshooting, I worked for you guys now I work for a huge company and I know my way around modems. I give him the exact error messages from the log.... which I come to find he has never seen and has no idea about.

I tell him then, I work and I am a busy person. I will leave the modem and plug in a bag on my porch please have one of your guys come by and swap it for me... I will not be impressed if it is still there when I get home.

Oh and never name your wireless network the same thing as your password.... its just stupid.

So here I am on my lunch driving around till I found a wireless modem wide open fast enough to download the new Friday the 13th movie... Obviously I found one since I am typing this but its just amazing how many people have it unsecured. I am torn between good boy and bad boy... do I change the password on the modem to something I will only know so they don't go in it and make it secure if they notice the speed dropping due to me or leave it alone and risk getting shut out and having to move from this awesome location.

Been playing Wow again. almost lvl 76. Really hard to find a motivation to continue since NOBODY here plays anymore....

Its not... but they attached their own Wireless to the modem and did not protect it.... so they will be liable if anything terrible happens... like someone is board and downloads movies and stuff.... : )

No it just blew. If you knew how much downloading and uploading I did on that modem. Every day I was pumping out at the least 8 gig download alone. most of my torrent accounts are comfortable with uploads as well.
