You know, as a guy I sorta always figured I had a pretty good pain tolerance. Heck I had a burst apendix for a week, and was dragging one of my legs before going to the hospital. And given the training I got in scouts for such things general speaking I do. But today I found a pain I had never even imagined.
The day had gone as normal, a lil wow pvp, lil self medicating, couple tit-tats with doc. Then I went and got dinner. Afterwards I went back to the computer hoping to get back into WoW to finish up the PVP I needed for the day.
It was about that time, it suddenly felt like my back had snapped in half. Not like a normal back sprain/hernia used to those. Then there was this undescribable pain in my right side. Followed by feeling very gasy, nauseus.
My first thought given my medical training was food poisoning, or just the worst indigestion ever. Tried my normal trick of lying in a warm bath for an hour, only to find the pain growing worse.
It was about this time I started vomiting and pissing blood....good times! And about the time I figured I should to go to a hospital.
So several hours and a catscan later, it turns out I had passed a kidney stone. One I didn't even know I had. The pain for the most part is gone now, and I'm heavily sedated on vicodin, and weed.
Needless to say it was an experience I will not be forgetting. And for those of you who have yet to experience one. All I can say is, simply pray you never do, as until then you have no concept of pain. (Unless you're female in which case I'm sure child birth still pwns this.)
